The model BMW X6 is a mid-size luxury Sports Activity Coupe from the house of BMW, which was put up for sale in the later quarter of the year 2008. It mixes the SUV's attributes with the stance of the Coupe models. It was also the debut SUV of BMW, which is the only SUV employed with an automatic transmission. It is manufactured in the latest manufacturing plant of BMW, which is in Spartanburg of South Carolina along with the model of BMW X5, which shares the platform with the X6.

It is a modified model of a SAV by BMW and is slight wider and longer than BMW X5. It has a passenger capacity of four people. The concept model was launched at the Frankfurt Auto Show in the year 2007 for the first time. Officially, the production of the model BMW X6 was started at the North American Auto Show in the year 2008 held at Detroit. A hybrid version of BMW X6, named as the BMW concept X6 Active Hybrid will be the debuted. Later in the month of April of the year 2009, the sporty X6 M version was announced, which has power of 555hp, thanks to the 4.4 liter turbocharged V8.

At the starting, BMW X6 was launched in North America in two different variants. Both of these were equipped with the twin turbocharged engines. While all the BMW SUVs are relatively larger in size, the new X1 and X6 are smaller in size in comparison to X5.

Hennessey finally unveiled its highly anticipated supercar, the Venom GT in England, where the car will be built. They say that it’s the most astonishing English-American come-together since WWII! And reviewing the car specs we can’t help but agree with them. Because it’s powered by Corvette’s ZR1 amazing V8 engine and has the same sort of chassis and bodywork as Lotus Elise. So it’s destined to be good!

Venom GT’s body shell is made entirely out of carbon fiber so it weighs less than 2,400 lbs (1,071 kilos) which is brilliant. Now if it was a Lotus they’d give it a four-cylinder turbo or a V6. But Venom is American! So they’ve come up with the 6.2 liter LS9 V8 of the ZR1 and then for that little extra something tuned it up to 725 bhp. This much power with that featherweight body is a recipe for absolute fun!

But that’s not all Hennessey has to offer. You see that 725 hp version is kinda the entry-level! They can even provide you with 1000 bhp and 1200 bhp twin turbo V8 engine variants. Now this is a recipe for chaos!

Hennessey Venom GT uses a Ricardo 6-speed gearbox to deliver the power to the rear wheelsand has a Brembo braking package with 6-piston calipers up front and 4-piston calipers in rear, with 15-inch carbon ceramic rotors. It also features an adjustable suspension system which can be customized based on the speed and driving conditions, and Michelin PS2 tires.

This car is limited to 10 units per year and for 2010 they already have four orders. The prices for Venom GT is said to be around $600,000.

Volvo S60 In Belgian Touring Car Series

Volvo is apparently so confident of their new S60 sedan that they are going to make a racing version of it. Of course they’ve decided to start on low key by entering this car in the 2010 season of the Belgian Touring Car Series before they think about bigger races like British Touring Car Championship.

The car’s going to be powered by a mid-mounted 3.5 liter 410 hp V6 mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox. It features racing suspension, brakes and tires and a racing bodykit which gives the S60 a cooler appearance! Of course it takes us sometime to get used to a COOL Volvo, but with the help of such cars we’ll get there!

Volvo Cars enters the all-new Volvo S60 in the Belgian Touring Car Series

Just weeks after the all-new Volvo S60 was introduced to the public, the latest Volvo model is also being unveiled in a racing version. Volvo Cars Belgium will enter the new car in the 2010 season of the Belgian Touring Car Series. Volvo fans will not need to wait long to see the latest model in action since the premiere takes place on April 11.

“We are very happy about this development,” says Bart Crols, Managing Director at Volvo Cars Belgium. “The all-new Volvo S60 sports sedan is Volvo’s most exciting driving experience so far and there is no better way to show this than by bringing it to the race track. Volvo and the all-new S60 have a special place in the people’s hearts here as several Volvo models, including the new S60, are built in Belgium at theVolvo Cars Ghent plant.”

The new Volvo S60 race car has been developed in record time locally by Volvo’s Belgian S60 Racing Team. It has been developed in accordance with the BTCS Silhouette S1 regulations which put a major emphasis on standardised features. All cars must use a tubular chassis, the same type of front and rear suspension and aerodynamics. A uniform type of engine specification is also available but manufacturers are allowed to use own engines.

The Volvo S60 Racing Team will also operate the car at all BTCS races and the drivers are Vincent Radermecker and Eric Van De Poele.

Its maiden track test will take place on April 1 (today) on the Belgian Zolder track.

“It has been a hectic period, but we have received great assistance from Volvo Cars’ Motorsport department” says Thomas Neri, Team Manager for the Volvo S60 Racing Team. He continues: “Our main objective is to get up to speed and to compete well in the various heats. Next season we hope to put our own in-house developed engine in the car.”

BTCS – low cost, high-performance racing

The BTCS is an endurance racing championship with six competitions on tracks such as Spa-Francorchamps, Zolder and Dijon. Each race consists of two 90-minute heats and there is also one 12-hour race in Spa. The all-new Volvo S60 will face intense competition from the likes of BMW, Audi, Jaguar and VW. BTCS has grown rapidly in terms of both competing brands and numbers thanks to its low-cost, high-performance combination and, not least, the fact that the cars have considerable visual appeal. The race series is televised in several countries and is gaining in popularity.

“We will support and follow our development in this series very closely as several other national championships are considering similar standardised regulations in the future,” says Derek Crabb, Motorsport Director at the Volvo Car Corporation. “This BTCS campaign will give us a good understanding of what these types of regulations can mean for Volvo.”

World’s most charismatic tuner Brabus unveiled their plan for the all-new Mercedes E-class Cabrio which includes modifications for the engine, body, chassis, and interior. They offer performance upgrade for all of the petrol and diesel engines in the range, with power from 235 hp up to 462 hp.

It starts with the ECO Power Extra D4 kit for the four-cylinder turbodiesel BlueEfficiencymodels, by which the power is upgraded from the standard 204 hp (201 bhp) / 150 kW to 235 hp (232 bhp) / 173 kW, and the torque up to 560 Nm (413 lb-ft). The Eco Power D6 kit does the same to the six-cylinder turbodiesel engine of the E 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY and raises the power to 272 hp (268 bhp) / 200 kW and peak torque to 590 Nm (435 lb-ft).

Then we have the E250 BlueEfficiecny petrol unit which 230 hp (227 bhp) / 169 kW at a low 5,500 rpm. Peak torque jumps from 310 Nm to 350 Nm (229 to 258 lb-ft), and the E350 CGI which gets another 18 hp.

The top model is the E500 which has undergone a major surgery! A steel billet crankshaft with longer stroke, larger cylinder bore and correspondingly larger pistons affect a displacement increase from 5.5 to 6.1 liters (336 to 372 cubic inch). The engine conversion further includes four-valve cylinder heads optimized for mixture flow, installation of special camshafts and the BRABUS stainless-steel sport exhaust system with high-performance metal catalysts. Custom-programmed engine electronics ensure the precise interaction of all new components.

Therefore it has 462 hp (456 bhp) / 340 kW and a peak torque of 615 Nm (453 lb-ft) which takes the car form zero to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and give it top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph).

Brabus body kit is also there to give the car a distinctive look and also improves the aerodynamics with its front spoiler that features integrated LED daytime running, rear diffuser and bootlid wing. You also have a lot of options for the wheels and tires:

One-piece or multi-piece BRABUS Monoblock alloy wheels with diameters of 17, 18 or 19 inches round out the exclusive BRABUS look. The largest tire/wheel combination for the E-Class Cabriolet features BRABUS Monoblock VI, E, Q or S wheels in size 8.5Jx19 on the front axle and in size 9.5Jx19 in back. The optimal high-performance tires come from Pirelli and YOKOHAMA in size 235/35 ZR 19 in front and up to size 275/30 ZR 19 on the rear axle. 20-inch BRABUS wheelswill be available for the new Mercedes E-Class Cabriolet in the near future.

Other modifications include BRABUS high-performance brake system and height-adjustable coil-over which lowers the car by 30 mm, and indeed a bespoke interior with BRABUS sportsteering wheel and genuine carbon-fiber elements.
